Strata Sublime
I love the polychromatic hues with which God painted the strata of His landscape! He never ceases to amaze with His resplendent Creation, and the subtle layers He builds into it. This sublime strata manifests the azure of His heavenly authority, the gold of His shining glory, the crimson of Christ’s precious blood shed on our behalf, the sienna of the cross upon which He sacrificed Himself, the olive green of renewal that His redemption brings to the saved, the violet of His royal sovereignty, the chartreuse of new growth in our previously fallow ground, and the vermillion of the cleansing fire of His Holy Spirit in our souls. Blessed beauty indeed!

You can see how God loves and values color in these verses! “Fashion a breastpiece for making decisions—the work of skilled hands. Make it like the ephod: of gold, and of blue, purple and scarlet yarn, and of finely twisted linen. It is to be square—a span long and a span wide—and folded double. Then mount four rows of precious stones on it. The first row shall be carnelian, chrysolite and beryl; the second row shall be turquoise, lapis lazuli and emerald; the third row shall be jacinth, agate and amethyst; the fourth row shall be topaz, onyx and jasper. Mount them in gold filigree settings. There are to be twelve stones, one for each of the names of the sons of Israel, each engraved like a seal with the name of one of the twelve tribes.” Exodus 28:15-21
