Jesus Rose (of Sharon)
“For to this end Christ both died, and ROSE, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.” Romans 14:9
“I am a ROSE of Sharon, a lily of the valleys.” Song of Songs 2:1
I selected this particular image, because Jesus ROSE from the dead, and is often referred to as the ROSE of Sharon. I cannot truly imagine the elation of Mary and the Disciples, after the despair of the two days previous to the Resurrection, but my heart sings with joy that Jesus loved us enough to pay the penalty for our sins, and rose from the grave on the third day as a proof of His dominion over death! He. Is. Alive!
If all that is not Grace enough, Jesus, Who promised we could have Life in Him through His Holy Spirit, commissioned His Holy Spirit to abide, as an Advocate, a Teacher, a Testimony, a Gift, and a Guarantee, within all who believe on Him! I have included only a few of the promises related to His precious Holy Spirit, and I pray you find them as comforting as do I! Praise Jesus, and Happy Easter! —AdL
“And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another ADVOCATE to help you and be with you forever—the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.” John 14:16-18
“But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will TEACH you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.” John 14:26
“’When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father—the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father—he will TESTIFY about me.’” John 15:26
“’Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the GIFT of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.’” Acts 2:38, 39
“When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit GUARANTEEing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory.” Ephesians 1:13, 14
